Well, every linux site needs a catchy slogan, doesn't it? Until I can think of something better...

that is it.

This site has been under construction forever. Well, almost.  Two years?  If I don't do something constructive (heh) with it over the holidays it is probably hopeless.

I tried using scripts my host has provided for blogging.  I was an abysmal failure with WordPress. Then I tried b2evolution.  I actually had a couple of pages up with it since last year and then when I went into it today through admin and edited some pages I got the dreaded 403 FORBIDDEN trying to save the changes. Sad, I could actually delete entire pages but I could not edit them. Tried Googling the error (I spend a lot of time Googling errors and I think I am pretty good at it) and found something could be amiss with my htaaccess file and OMG security issue. Yeah, I could have guessed that what with the FORBIDDEN and YOU DON'T HAVE PERMISSION TO ACCESS THIS.  Although good at Googling errors, the fixes often elude me.  So I removed the whole blog.   I might try a fresh install, I did try running the updates for it before deleting the whole thing but the updates did not get me my permissions back.  Possibly something has changed with my host.    They may have changed some server setting - at least that is all I can gleam from the b2evolution search on this error.  Not sure if that is good or bad, this is not a commerce site and I can't see why anyone would want to hack my sql with my newbie .htacess whathaveyou.  My host is a bit into the uber-security but generally they send emails about things like this - like when they locked down the ftp so tight it takes me a help ticket every time I want to ftp something.  I have been using the file manager in their admin panel to avoid having to put in another ticket but yeah, have a new install at home with new Filezilla, so will be putting in a ticket soon.

See, this is the way linux is for me.  Almost a decade running it nearly 100% of my personal computing time and I still am a newbie.  But still plugging away at it.  I found my current OS around four years ago.  It is good for people like myself.  Whatever I am like.  Probably Aspie.   Here you go: PClinuxOS.

Email link if there is something in particular you would like to see on this site. Or - if you know what is wrong with my .htaccesswhatsis.  Thanks.
